教学步骤 (teaching procedures)
Ⅰ. Warm-up
   Enjoy the beautiful song:You’ve Got A Friend.
When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand
If nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest sky
You just call out my name and you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call And I'll be there, yes I'll be there
You've got a friend
Ⅱ. Presentation
    Do you like the beautiful song ?Its name is You’ve Got A Friend. Do you have a best friend? How many good friends do you have now? What do you want your friends to be like?…… In fact, no matter what you want to have, you must have friends. So it’s very important for us to have good friends. Right? But we have a question here, what makes your friend so special? What are the important qualities of a good friend? ……Yes, we have many words to describe qualities of a good friend, such as, polite, clever, helpful, tidy, etc. Do you agree with me? Now let’s play a game------Bingo!

   So much for the new words. Now, let’s listen to Hobo and Eddie. After you listen to them, please answer my questions, what does Eddie give Hobo? And are Eddie and Hobo good friends?

Ⅴ. Reading
I want to know Hobo and Eddie better. Please give me a hand. Listen again, then read the article by themselves.

   In the modern world, many people want to be someone’s good friend, they want to have some good qualities. Daniel is one of them. Now, Daniel is reading an advertisement in ‘Teenagers’ magazine. He is matching the qualities on the left with the questions on the right. Help him write the correct letters in the box.

VII. Task  (make a survey)  (附学生练习用纸二)
1.According to the table, ask your classmates about their friend. If you see the words like “likes computer games” in one of your boxes, you may ask one of your classmates: Does your friend like computer games? If the answer is yes, you can write down the classmate’s name down after these words in the same box. If the answer is no, you can go to another classmate or another question you’ve got in the boxes.
2.If there is a name in one of your boxes, please miss the same box and go on the next until you finish all the questions.
3.If there is still some time, please ask as many classmates as possible.
4.Have a discussion in groups of seven or eight. Every member should say something you’re most interested in about your survey.
5.Each group choose a student as the group leader to write something your group get about the person your group most   like to make friend with and write down why.
6.Have a composition show. And talk about it.
7.Give stars to each group. The more stars, the better. Don’t forget to give them some more advice and encourage them to create a better one.
8.Hand in what you write after class.
VII. Test   (附学生练习用纸三)
1.(In class hand out) Ask the students to finish it as carefully as possible during 5 minutes.
2.Check the answers.
Ⅷ. Sum-up and Homework
1. From this lesson, we know that it is great to have good friends, because they can help you and share both happiness and sadness with you, so they can make you happy. Now Let’s be friends!
2. Homework
1) Review the contents of this lesson.
2) Write a letter to your parents about your best friends.
